Her students have been selected for honor bands and camps and have received the highest rating at solo contests. Her students have included players picking up an instrument for the first time as well as more experienced players planning to pursue a career in music. In addition to Leah's private studio instruction, she has been a guest clinician, solo and ensemble judge, and audition adjudicator. Leah is the Adjunct High Brass Specialist at Immaculata High School and Immaculate Conception School in Somerville, New Jersey where she teaches horn and trumpet lessons and sectionals. She has also been on staff for several marching bands. Teaching PhilosophyLeah feels that a relationship of trust between a teacher and student is extremely important to establish a healthy learning environment. She strives to establish good rapport with her students to provide them an environment where they can learn and enjoy making music. Experience as an active performer combined with a strong background in music education creates an excellent union of practical and pedagogical knowledge. Leah's approach to instruction is to give students the tools to play their instrument with greater ease and efficiency. She will help students develop sound quality, technique, and musicality through a variety of repertoire. The combination of these will assist the student in using their instrument as a vehicle for personal expression. Leah is available to teach on weekdays or weekends throughout central New Jersey.
